1. Who I am

This website is run by Simon Taylor, trading as The Dynamic Therapist. I'm the "controller" of your personal information, which means I decide how it's used and I'm responsible for looking after it.

Address: City Road, London, EC1V 2NX
Email: bookings@thedynamictherapist.com

I've written this in plain English. If anything isn't clear, email me and I'll explain. The Inner Compass app has its own privacy policy, which you'll see when you sign up for it.

2. The short version

  • I only collect what I need to help you, run my practice and sell my resources.
  • What you tell me about your health, feelings or faith is treated as especially sensitive, and I only use it with your explicit consent.
  • I never sell your information, and I don't use advertising trackers.
  • I use AI tools in some parts of my work, including transcribing sessions. A person, me, checks everything they produce, and your sessions are never used to train AI.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

4. Health, wellbeing and faith information

The law treats information about your physical or mental health, and about your religious beliefs, as "special category" data. That covers much of what people share with a Therapist or Coach. I only use it with your explicit consent, which you give when you send an enquiry or start a programme, and only for the purpose you shared it for.

You can withdraw that consent at any time. If you do, I'll stop using the information going forward. It may mean I can't continue working with you, and I'll tell you honestly if that's the case.

5. How I use AI

I want to be completely open about this, because it matters.

Session recordings and notes. One-to-one sessions are recorded and transcribed using an AI-assisted transcription service, so my notes are accurate and I can give you my full attention instead of writing. AI may help draft a summary or your between-session practice. I read, correct and approve every note and summary myself before it's kept or sent to you. I'll tell you which transcription service I use before your programme starts.

What I won't do.

  • I only use AI services that don't train their models on your information.
  • I don't paste identifiable session content into general-purpose AI chat tools.
  • AI never makes decisions about you. Every decision about your care is made by me.
  • Your recordings and transcripts are never shared, published or used for marketing.

Running the practice. I also use AI assistants to help with everyday work, such as drafting articles and guides, writing emails, and building and looking after this website. Where that involves client information, the same rules above apply.

The Inner Compass app uses automated features to suggest check-ins and practices. It explains how in its own privacy policy, and it isn't a substitute for professional care.

6. Confidentiality and its limits

What you tell me stays between us. There are a small number of situations where I may have to share information without your agreement:

  • if I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, I may contact emergency services, your GP or another appropriate service;
  • if a child or vulnerable adult is at risk;
  • if the law or a court requires it.

Wherever it's safe and possible, I'll talk to you first.

7. Who helps me, and where your information is kept

I use a small number of trusted services to run the practice. They only use your information to provide their service to me, under contracts that protect it.

I never sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing.

8. How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to working together: 12 months, then deleted.
  • Session recordings: deleted once the transcript and notes have been checked, and no later than 90 days after the session.
  • Client records (notes, transcripts, questionnaires): 7 years after we last work together, in line with professional guidance, then securely deleted.
  • Purchase and payment records: 6 years, because the law requires financial records to be kept.
  • Email list: until you unsubscribe. I keep a note that you unsubscribed so you're not added again by mistake.
  • Member accounts: while your account is open, and for a short time after you close it.

9. Cookies and similar technology

This website keeps things to a minimum:

  • A login cookie keeps you signed in to your member area. It's essential, so it doesn't need your consent.
  • A note of your choice is kept on your device if you close the email sign-up box, so it doesn't keep popping up.
  • Visitor statistics are counted without storing anything on your device.

There are no advertising or social media tracking cookies. If that ever changes, I'll ask your permission first.

10. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information I hold about you;
  • ask me to correct anything that's wrong;
  • ask me to delete your information, unless I'm legally required to keep it;
  • ask me to limit how I use it, or object to how I use it;
  • ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere;
  • withdraw your consent at any time.

Email bookings@thedynamictherapist.com to use any of these rights. There's no charge, and I'll reply within one month. Members can also download or ask to delete their information from the member area.

11. Keeping your information safe

Your information is stored on secure, encrypted services. Downloads and private files are only reachable through short-lived private links. Access is limited to me. If something ever went wrong that put your information at risk, I'd tell you and, where required, the Information Commissioner's Office.

12. Age

My services and this website are for adults aged 18 and over. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

13. Concerns and complaints

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

14. Changes to this policy

If I change how I use your information, I'll update this page and change the date at the top. If it's a significant change that affects you, I'll tell you directly. My terms for buying from the store are on the terms page.
